Often enough i'll see a team practice and there will be no goalie coach, which means the goalies will be used mostly for
forward drills and practice. Not the best situation for you to learn, but regardless, try to take advantage of the ice time
you have available.
While your teammates are doing their drills that do not involve you goalies, move to the side and
get into a routine of doing basic movement drills (ie...shuffles/t-push/b-fly recovery/b-fly slide, etc). Just because no
goalie coach is present to tell you what to do, that doesn't mean you should waste valuable time for practice. Repeating these
movements will only make you better and more comfortable. Once you get to work with a goalie coach, then you will be able
to get corrections done and work on specific situation drills.
So next time you're out there, keep busy. Remember...practice
makes perfect ; )
